The headline CPI showed an increase of 2.0 percent from March quarter 2022 to June quarter 2022. The headline CPI also showed an increase of 5.5 percent from June quarter 2021 to June quarter 2022.

The major contributors to the increase in the June Quarter were Transport Group, Household Equipment Group, Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages Group, Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco, and Betel-Nut Group and Housing Group.

Transport Group (+ 3.9%)

The Transport Group Index increased by 3.9 percent this quarter due to increase in prices of Fuels and Lubricants (+9.7%).

Household Equipment Group (+3.1%)

The Household Equipment Group Index increased by 3.1 percent in this quarter due to the increase in prices of Household Maintenance Goods (+3.8%) and Household Appliances (+3.7%).

Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverage Group (+3.0%)

The Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Group Index increased by 3.0 percent in this quarter due to the increase in prices of Non-Alcoholic Beverages (+8.4%).

Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco, and Betel-Nut Group (+1.9%)

The Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco and Betel-Nut Group Index increased by 1.9 percent in this quarter due to the increase in prices of Betel Nut and Mustard (+3.2%).

Housing Group (+1.6%)

The Housing Group Index increased by 1.6 percent in this quarter due to the increase in Cooking (14.1%).
