What is Population Modelled Estimates?

Population estimates usually by age and sex, generated through the use of satellite images (usually different types, e.g. vegetation, night lights, etc.), in combination with existing/available/new survey data and statistical modelling

The illustration (above) explains how a population distribution modelling can is achieved.

By using a model or a distribution like so, The WorldPop Project team was able to provide a population distribution.

How was it done?

Population Estimates release is pending the approval of the National Executive Council (NEC).
