Current Price GDP for 2018 is 79, 405 million Kina, this is an increase of 6,883 million Kina or 9.5% from 2017 Current Price GDP.
Key contributing industries were:

  • 2,743 million Kina or 14.2% increase in Mining and Quarrying
    • 1,934 million Kina or 16.2% increase in Extraction of Crude Petroleum and Natural Gas
    • 809 million Kina or 10.9% increase in other mining
  • 893 million Kina or 17.8 % increase in Administrative and Support Service Activities
  • 678 million Kina or 5.3 % increase in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
  • 524 million Kina or 7.7 % increase in Wholesale and Retail Trade.

The main offset to this increase was Manufacturing with a fall of 42 million Kina or -3.0%.

Constant Prices

Constant Price GDP for 2018 is 62,896 million Kina, this is a fall of 176 million Kina or -0.3 % from 2017 Constant Price GDP.
Key contributing industries were:

  • 1,892 million Kina or -9.2% fall in Mining and Quarrying
    • 2,050 million Kina or -15.3 % fall in Extraction of Crude Petroleum and Natural Gas
  • 73 million Kina or – 6.7 % fall in Manufacturing
  • 57 million Kina or – 9.3 % fall in Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities
  • 35 million Kina or – 0.9 % fall in Construction.

The main offset to this decrease were;

  • 516 million Kina or 13.0 % increase in Administrative and Support Service Activities.
  • 444 million Kina or 4.6 % increase in Agriculture, Fishing and Forestry.
