Training the trainers is one very important process leading into Census 2021. As such, the National Statistical Office and the office of Census 2021 in collaboration with Daltron, one of the leading training providers in Papua New Guinea, initiated and facilitated a Training of Trainers (TOT) from the 21st – 25th of September 2020 in Port Moresby.

Enthusiastic staff from the census office and NSO who participated in the week-long training showed much interest in becoming an instructor to train others down the line.

The Census Director, Mrs Hajily Kele, thanked Daltron for partnering with the NSO and Census Office in delivering the training as it was very important to deliver a successful census come July 2021.

Mrs Kele also stressed that the participants should be thankful for the opportunity and be committed to see census training through fruition.

The training ended with a ceremony that saw the participants recieving the “Train the Trainers” certificates, certifying them as a Master Trainers for Papua New Guinea Census 2021.
